Hostas come in a wide range of sizes and as you go through our listing you will see a letter in parenthesis after the name which denotes the height of the plant…the ledger below will help to convert this to inches.
Kalamazoo
[M] (Linneman) Jeroen named this plant after a visit to Michigan
several years ago. This elegant hosta has beautiful long, pointed, dark green
leaves framed by an uneven border that starts out yellow and turns white later…
leaf margin is quite wavy. Kikutii parentage gives the leaf a white back! Lavender
flowers appear in midsummer. Has proven to be fertile and produces a small
number of streaked seedlings.
great new intro from Ken Harris… **Kenzie
[S] (Harris) Ken Harris brings us this open pollinated seedling from H.
‘Neat Splash’...great look on a small hosta! Medium green leaves have a nice sheen
and start with a yellow border that changes to white later in the season. Good
substance on a dense clump of pointed leaves that are slightly cupped.
Key Lime Pie
[L] (Hans Hansen) Sport of H. ‘Squash Casserole’ with green leaves surrounded by a muted yellow border.
Heavily ruffled leaves held horizontally creating a wide, flat mound of a clump. Vigorous grower with lavender flowers.
King of Spades
[S] (Beilstein) Seedling from Doug Beilstein...beautiful blue-green waxy, heart-shaped leaves are unusually
puckered for a smaller hosta...also somewhat twisted and irregular in shape. Vigorous grower and lavender flowers.
Kitty Cat

leaves and lavender flowers. H. venusta type.
Kiwi Full Monty
[M] (Sligh) This is the blue-green sport of H. ‘Striptease’…emerges with
frosty blue leaves that have a blue-green center surrounded by a white line
(same as H. ‘Striptease). The center later turns to bright gold. Topped with
lavender flowers. Excellent substance and good vigor are also evident with
this rapid multiplier.
Lakeside Baby Face
[S] (Chastain) Charming little clump of small heart-shaped green leaves with a
creamy-white margin that are topped with pale lavender flowers.
Lakeside Beach Captain

from Mary with grey-green leaves that sport a heavily rippled creamy-white
border...leaf backs are white. Lavender Flowers.
Lakeside Cranberry Relish
[M] (Chastain) We really like this
one...red petioles carry shiny green leaves with a yellow border on a
vigorous and dense clump topped with lavender flowers.
Lakeside Cupcake
[S] (Chastain) This is a wonderful introduction from Mary! Heart-shaped
leaves have a creamy yellow center surrounded by a wonderful blue-green border. Leaves are
cupped and topped with pale lavender flowers.
Lakeside Dragonfly

with a wide white margin that streaks to the center. Good grower with pale lavender flowers.

almost perfectly round leaf and petiole form the shape of a ”lollipop”. White flowers dramatically
contrast leaves. Great substance.

surrounded by two distinct colors of green. The wider outside border is dark green with lime green

blue-green leaves surrounded by a wide uneven white margin. Topped with lavender flowers.

[M] (Chastain) One of the nicest “blues”…very blue round-shaped
leaves are cupped, puckered and pleated. Great substance on leaves that are held in an upright
position. Near white flowers.
Lakeside Scamp
[mini] (Chastain) Very thick aqua leaves have a creamy yellow border and
make a dense little clump topped with lavender flowers...we really like this one.
Lederhosen
[M] (Benedict) Thick elongated leaves have a wavy margin and form a dense mound. The thick leather-like
substance inspired the name as ‘lederhosen’ is German for “leather britches”. Equally outstanding are beautiful fragrant lavender
flowers that open in late summer.
Libby
[M] (Nyikos) This medium-sized plant has proven to be a vigorous grower…dark green leaves with a slightly rippled
creamy-yellow border will be topped with lavender flowers. H. ‘Libby’ holds her looks all season.

new introduction for 2010… **Lily Blue Eyes
[S] (Donsky) We are pleased to introduce this superb blue seedling
from George Donsky...wavy blue leaves with a serrated edge have white backs and make
a dense clump that gets about 15” tall. Great substance and topped with lavender flowers
in midsummer. Will fit into any garden spot that gets good light but do avoid the hot
afternoon sun. H. ‘Salute’ x H. ‘Azure Snow’.
Limey Lisa
[mini] (Zumbar) Delightful clump of tiny chartreuse-lime leaves and lavender flowers.
Linda Sue
[L] (Wade) Possibly a tetraploid...blue-green leaves have a very wide gold
margin. Good substance and lots of corrugation on this sport from H. ‘Frances Williams’ that
will be topped with near-white flowers in July. Moderate growth rate but gets huge.
Little Caesar
[mini] (Crystal/Bond) From Great Britain…lightly twisted leaves have a
creamy-white center and a wide green border that is slightly rippled. Good substance and topped
with pale lavender flowers. Center tends to fade to a green midseason in warmer climates.
Little Jay
[mini] (Jan van den Top) This sport of H. ‘Beauty Little Blue’ has long narrow leaves that
are slightly folded with a creamy-white center and a blue-green border...creates a sharp contrast and
different from any other mini. Leaves are thick and have a dull finish. Topped with dark lavender flowers
and is really quite a vigorous grower for having so much white.
Little Maddie
[mini] (Van Wyk) Wonderful new mini that comes up light green with
misting and some streaking. As the season progresses it changes to a dark green and the misting
is still apparent. Leaves have a nice sheen and will do well in morning sun. Vigorous grower
H. ‘Little Maddie’ topped with lavender flowers that are fertile.
**Little Miss Muffet
[mini] (Zumbar) This little mini is a classic H. venusta with chartreuse
heart-shaped leaves. Good substance and topped with lavender flowers.

will be. Lavender flowers are also held on red scapes.
Little Star Struck
[S] (Terpening) A small hosta with pointed leaves that pop out from a neat and
compact clump. Each wavy leaf is edged in white with some grey streaking into the green center. This
hosta will develop into a beautiful little clump quickly and be a star when placed in the front of the
border. Lavender flowers will appear in early summer.
Little Stiffy
[mini] (Benedict) Shiny yellow-gold leaves poke out in all directions...leaves are quite
wavy, held rigidly and have good substance. Lavender flowers appear in summer.
Little Treasure PPAF
[mini] (Jan van den Top) We are very pleased to offer this new miniature
from Jan in the US. This is a sport from H. ‘Little Jay’ with a very wide blue-green border that gives
the plant a totally different look. Again, we have good substance and excellent vigor. Lavender
flowers are held on pale scapes that compliment the clump.
Lizard Lick

A little bigger than a mini and tough enough to flourish in the garden. Lavender flowers in midsummer.
**Lonesome Dove PP17294
[S] (Hansen) Hybrid from H. ‘Blue Moon’ and can be a little slow to
establish...cupped blue-green leaves have a creamy-white center and are topped with lavender
flowers. The blue border will widen with age and the plant will look much different.

pale lavender flowers midsummer.
Loyalist
[M] (Walters Gardens) The reverse variegation of H. ‘Patriot’…leaf margins of dark green
surround nearly pure white centers that do not melt out if afternoon sun is avoided. Lavender flowers.
